When You Find Out Who Your Friends Ain’t

Interesting reading the weekly irrelevant north side publisher’s position today. He went after the Knox County School Board Vice Chair Amber Rountree, who he supported in her election to the board. However, I suppose things went south this October when she beat his Black Wednesday County Commissioner Crony for the School Board Vice Chairman position.

The irrelevant publisher then went after Knox County Commission Chairman David Wright for voicing personal support a yet to be proposed TN gas tax increase. *I am making the supposition that it is Wright’spersonal support as he is a County Commissioner and NOT a member of the legislature. Wright can not vote for any yet to be proposed gas tax increase. (I am opposed to an increase in TN’s gas tax and will post my two reasons in another post in the near future, my reasons are not personal.) The Knox County Commission Chairman was once a close pal of the publisher, I suppose Commission Chairman Wright now knows who his friend ain’t.

The irrelevant publisher then went after our State Senator Becky Duncan Massey, he is dismissive of our State Senator’s ability and work ethic, publishing that she was elected because of her name. This is absolutely not the case! Our State Senator was re-elected this year without an opponent. However, when Senator Jamie Woodson resigned to lead the state SCORE initiative, our State Senator in the August 2011 Republican primary beat Knoxville City Councilwoman Marilyn Roody (who possess a well known family name and live in West Knoxville’s affluent Sequoyah neighborhood) and well known South Knox County Commissioner Victoria DeFreese who had an extensive Community Activist past. n November 8, 2011 in the General Election beat Gloria Johnson, a one term State Representative elected in 2012 that has been beaten by Republican State Representative Eddie Smith twice in 2014 and 2016. In 2012, our State Senator then bested Evelyn Gill with nearly 69% of Gill’s 38% to be re-elected to a full four year term. Gill this year won the First District Knox County Commission seat, in besting now State Representative Rick Staples in the Democrat primary and Republican Michael Covington in the general election.

Additionally, the irrelevant publisher makes a BIG assumption of State Represetative Eddie Smith‘s position on any gas tax increase. Throughout the campaign where he beat Johnson for the second time. He continually stated any gas tax increase must be offset by a sales tax decrease.

*for the record this post is my opinion of the publishers position after reading the column. I did not attend the joint meeting of legislators, commissioners and school boarders at Litton’s restaurant in North Knoxville where according to his column he arrived at his published positions this week.

the publisher’s position is written like an angry, bitter woman, probably Jennifer Owen.

All the Trump love (which the Publisher never professed before now) warms my heart that the irrelevant is now trying to be pals with Shurf Tim. Hutchison is too smart for that.

  3. I use my own name when writing and have no need to hide behind anyone else’s. Though I have nothing to be bitter or angry about, I did attend this meeting and would be glad to discuss it any time.
